Where to place the bet
Business development and capture, shaping and growth strategy, and technical due diligence for organizations placing serious bets on AI and complex systems.
Tallaios brings aerospace-grade systems engineering and exquisite AI judgment to organizations that need to turn complex problems into operational capability.
The hardest part of any complex system is rarely the technology in isolation. It's making strategy, engineering, and people work together — under real constraints, against real adversaries, with results that hold up in the field.
Business development and capture, shaping and growth strategy, and technical due diligence for organizations placing serious bets on AI and complex systems.
System architecture and design, requirements analysis, and the hands-on engineering that turns a concept into a capability that works in the field.
Chief AI Officer or CTO leadership on a contract basis — senior technical direction and decision-making without committing to a full-time hire.
Keynotes, technical writing, and mentoring that bring teams and audiences up to speed on AI, analytics, and systems thinking — fast.
Understand the mission, the constraints, and the environment before a single solution is on the table. The work starts with the problem, not the model.
Design the strategy and the technical path together — grounded in what is genuinely buildable, fundable, and operable at scale.
Move from concept to capability: build, integrate, and stand it up — then make sure it keeps working once it's in operational hands.
Pat works at the intersection of artificial intelligence and mission engineering for defense, intelligence, and space clients. His expertise spans aerospace engineering, systems engineering, data science, and analytic software development. He has held multiple technical leadership and executive positions in the defense community. Most recently, he led systems engineering for a space domain awareness data analytics framework supporting a national-security client.
As a director of analytics and data science, Pat led the development of an innovative prototype for monitoring treaty violations from open-source information and led trade studies for new intelligence and analytic systems. In 2016, he co-authored Activity-Based Intelligence: Principles and Applications, reflecting his work deploying the first large-scale ABI software for an IC partner.
His work has been recognized with the 2018 Edwin Land Industry Award from the Intelligence and National Security Alliance, the ODNI's National Intelligence Integration Award, and the Neil Armstrong Award of Excellence. He has served on the board of directors of the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation.
Pat holds bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech, where he studied under Professor Dimitri Mavris at the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory. His dissertation applied AI methods to the conceptual design of a long-range strike aircraft.
